STOP MOTION ANIMATION
search: artsmartb6
How it all started...I started dabbling in stop motion animation in 2008. Trying to think of a way to connect with the ever growing technologically wired students I was getting. I brought in an old digital camera, found a broken tripod in a school closet and dusted off the box of colored clay i had buried and presented the idea to one of my classes.
And the rest they say is history...A year and half later, two grants, some training, a handful of brand new computers, tripods, and digital cameras and my classes are creating some fantastic animations!
Across the Curriculum Learning...
I have tapped into our ELA department for ways to write short stories and story mapping. Many students will create a script based on a story they are reading while others will create their own from scratch. The science department has approached me on creating short animations on cell division and some other area's of knowledge and the students have approached me with doing PSA's as animations.
